The Abruzzo area is unique as it has an enchanting mix of rugged mountains and ancient hilltop settlements, which have remain largely untouched by the outside world. The whole region provides a wonderful source of inspiration for the artist’s brush and I am excited to teach my painting skills in such a magnificent setting.

During the workshop you will learn to see and then compose a wonderful painting. We will walk around the old townships to find the best angles from which to paint, and then take reference photographs to use as inspiration back in the classroom. We will discover the stories behind each vista and try to include them in our paintings to give them depth.

Each day you will produce a sample piece in acrylics to learn about the different aspects of painting including tone, perspective, composition and colour.

Beginners are welcome as well as those who are more advanced, as I will start at the beginning by going through the different tools, techniques and paints which can be used, and then you will be able to work at your own pace.

I have been an artist and worked professionally for over 45 years and have a wealth of experience I thoroughly enjoy passing on in my workshops.

My goal is that by the end of the week you will take home your own masterpiece, and also a new confidence to work creatively with paint in your own studio or home.

My classes are light hearted and fun, but you will come out of it with a new discipline and eye for tone, colour, composition & detail that can be applied to any future artistic endeavour.

This is your chance to experience the rich Abruzzo culture up-close, and take home a stunning piece of work inspired by this stunning region.
