Prices, Terms and Conditions

for 2012 season.    

Abruzzo School of Creative Art and  

Italian Art Affair Holidays  (which are both the same enterprise) 

All pricing is in US dollars

 

Normally $US2250.00.

With our opening discount of $255.00 it is now $US1995.00 two people to a room. (Approx 1500.00 Euros). This offer expires 2 weeks prior to class registration date!

The payment is payable in TWO installments.

The first payment of $995.00 is due on registration.

The second and final payment of $1000.00 is due the date of the registation deadline for the class.

You will be sent a reminder when the second payment is due.

Every class is the same cost. Some may have extra payments for supplies and made up kits for the workshop. This extra price will be listed on the website. The extra payments should be made to the tutor at the start of a class, in cash.

$US350.00 extra for single room

$US495.00 non-participating spouse, partner or friend to share a room with you.

This is What is Included in the Price:

All accommodations include 7 nights lodging, all meals and 5-day classes/workshop.
All lessons and activities as stipulated on the Itinerary Page with the particular tutor you have chosen.

Seven nights double occupancy lodging at 'Locanda dell'Asino d'Oro' from Wednesday night to the following Wednesday morning.

Transfer from Rome...Meet at Tiburtina Station between 3pm and 4pm each Wednesday. (More explicit details on this when you book)

Check-in: is all day Wednesday.

Check out: is 10am on the following Wednesday morning.

You will be transferred to Sulmona to catch bus or train to continue your Italian adventure.

Spouse, partner or friend is included in all listed below. (They are included in all but the classes).Accommodation includes continental breakfast each morning. Plus extras.

All morning and afternoon teas with snacks.

All lunches. Partner Included (if they are not out on excursion)

All evening meals and wine at 'Locanda dell'Asino d'Oro'

Cooking class, dinner and wine tasting.

Donkey trek and picnic lunch in a beautiful olive grove. (the trek is not difficult or strenuous)

Excursions into Sulmona:

  • Walking and sightseeing for sketching and photo taking in relation to your particular class.
  • A visit to the fabulous Saturday markets.
  • To take part in the passegata on Sunday evening
  • The 10 seater taxi is available in the evenings for you to go to say, Introdacqua, or Sulmona.

Your Spouse/Partner/Friend..Yes, bring them to

(Spouse/partners/friends...mmmmm what to do with them, while we are having so much fun:-)

I joke, my husband is planning some interesting day trips, checking out a couple of ancient hill top villages and beautiful country side, like a trip to Passo San Leonado, (which is one of our favourite picnic places) for them to visit. Or point them in the right direction if they want to do some hiking.

At this stage we are not sure what form these trips will take, as we won't know how many students partners will be around.

There will be a minimal charge to cover cost of day trips and outings.

Cost: $US495.00 non-participating spouse, partner or friend to share a room with you.

How to Pay

When you submit your registration for the particular class you wish take. You will receive by email an invoice from Pay Pal. (It may take 24 hours)

You can either pay through your Pay Pal membership... 

OR if you are NOT a member of Pay Pal... that is still OK, as you can elect to pay with your credit card through the Pay Pal secure web site.

 

Airline/Travel Information
Closest International airport Fumicino (Also named Leonardo Da Vinci) - Rome, . 2 hours 30mins/ 3 hours from Su.lmona 

Smaller Airports, Ryanair, Easyjet, etc

Rome: Ciampino Airport..... 1hour 30mins/2 hours.

and on the Adriatic coast.   Pescara Airport...45mins from Sulmona.

A good idea when planning your trip, is to plan to arrive in Rome on Sunday or Monday, have a couple of days in Rome sightseeing, before we meet at Tiburtina Station between 3pm and 4pm each Wednesday. (More explicit details on this when you book)

We have scheduled your arrival to the venue mid week, as there are not as many bus and rail services operating on a Sunday as other days of the week.


 What is not included:

  • All travel costs. To and from Italy.
  • Transfers to and from the airports.

Unfortunately, though we would like to, it is not feasible to meet each and every plane at Fumicino (Leonarda Da'Vinci Airport are the same airport). There are buses and trains into Rome. Here is a link to a very reasonable bus that departs every 30 minutes. It takes you to Rome central Termini Station. This one below is 4.00 Euro's to Rome.

  • Bus or train fare from Sulmona, when you depart on Wednesday morning. (you will be transferred to Sulmona)
  • Personal items such as individual journaling and art supplies, wines, liquors, laundry charges, and other items not specifically mentioned as included.
  • Daily excursions that are organised for your partner will have a minimal charge to cover costs.
  • Lunches for excursions (partner) will be decided the day before and they may elect to go to a restaurant for lunch, in which case they will pay for that. 
  • Optional activities, if any. Like eating out at other restaurants of an evening.
  • Supplement for single room.
  • Additional nights lodging.
  • We do not arrange or organise any additional internal Italian travel, B and B's or rental cars, etc. before and after classes.

Payments and Cancellation Policy:

There is a nonrefundable $US350 cancellation charge until the registration deadline as shown on your receipt.

There are no refunds after the registration deadline. Although unlikely, the class may be cancelled due to unforeseen circumstances.

The registration deadline is 10 weeks (70 days) prior to the start of the class.

The date of which will be on your receipt.

There is a required minimum of 5 students for a class to go ahead.

If the requirement of 5 students for the class is not met, then the class will be cancelled. Participants who have paid, will be given the opportunity to join another class if they wish to.

You will be notified of the cancellation within 5 working days.

If cancelled, the entire amount paid will be refunded within fourteen days after the class cancellation.

 Once this occurs, Abruzzo School of Creative Art has no other obligations including any additional costs or fees related to the issuance and/or cancellation of airline tickets or other travel reservations.

Abruzzo School of Creative Art accepts no liability for any airline cancellation penalty incurred by the purchase of a nonrefundable ticket. Nor does it accept liability for cancelled flights.

Class numbers:

Classes are limited to 8 per class, on a first come first served basis.

Travel Insurance:

It is strongly recommended that all class participants purchase Travel Cancellation, Emergency Insurance.

Medical Evacuation, Baggage, Accident and Medical insurance covering all travel and workshop costs

from a reputable insurance company.

Abruzzo School of Creative Art is not liable for cancellation of class for any reason other than Abruzzo School of Creative Art cancelling the class.

Please note, if people have to cancel for

illness and other reasons. 

 

Abruzzo School of Creative Art 

will not refund fees after the class deadline date!

unless they, Abruzzo School of Creative Art cancels the class.

There are many reputable Travel Insurance companies to be found on the Internet.

Registering:

When you register for a class, you will be sent an email invoice from Pay Pal. You will be able to pay on this invoice, whether you have a Pay Pal account or not. It is very easy and you will be instructed each step of the way.

When you register for a class, you are agreeing to have read and understood the terms and conditions of the Abruzzo School of Creative Art and will abide by these terms and conditions.

Class Discount.

There is a discount on offer of $255.00, as it is our inauguration year.

The discount expires 2 weeks prior to the class registration deadline.

Eligibility:

Abruzzo School of Creative Art reserves the right to decline to accept any person at any time.

Participants need to be over 18 years old and healthy.

Itinerary or Program Modifications

While every effort will be made to carry out the program as planned, the program as described is

subject to modification and change.

Responsibility

None of the service suppliers is in any way controlled by Abruzzo School of Creative Art and we undertake no responsibility for reservations, accommodations, transportation or safety, nor for any other aspect of your journey, except the educational program.

Consequently, Abruzzo School of Creative Art shall not be construed to make any covenants or warranties, expressed or implied, regarding these classes and shall not be liable in any way for any personal injury, death, property damage or any loss incurred by any person in connection with your journey.

Photography and Written Records

Abruzzo School of Creative Art reserves the right and all participants agree to allow Abruzzo School of Creative Art to take photographic, film or text records of activities during the course of the week.
